Rhubarb Floor and Wall, Digitally Routed, Vinyl Graphics

About This Project

Rhubarb Temple University’s production company created this traveling art exhibit.  QuakerChroma Imaging was called upon to provide the graphics for both the floor and the wall. We printed to the 3M Controltac IJ162 series of Adhesive Vinyl products

Our Solution:

The workflow for producing Floor and Wall Graphics is a three step process that includes;

These Floor Graphics required High Performance Laminate, meeting the industry safety standards for non-slip performance (ASTM D 2047). The 3M Performance Warranty and 3M Performance Guarantee is also validated in when 3M Controltac is used in conjunction with approved 3M Overlams.

Our first detail in QCI Pre-Press to layout to mechanical size, based on supplied architectural drawings. We provided sectioned graphic panels, with overlap. The installers were pleased with how smoothly and accurately the graphics laid down on the floor and affixed to the walls.

Result

The dramatic serpentine effect of the Floor and Wall Graphics contributed to the allure of this “Road Show” and heavy traffic was generated.  The graphics had to withstand the repetative breaking down and setting up of the display, which they did quite nicely. The resultant smiles from the public, and our satisfied client is QCI’s best accolade.

We utilized the following equipment:

60 inch wide by any length Ink Jet Printing with Eco-Solvent inks on our Roland Soljet XJ640 series for durable  Adhesive 3M Control-Tac Vinyl and the Quality Duravinyl 200 Series of Adhesive Backed Films with their (Limited Remedy Policy).

Mounting and Laminating in our complete finishing department including AGL 64” Press, Orca III 60” Press, Falcon 38” Press and (3) Seal Presses

Hot and Cold Laminating;

Digital Contour Cutting on our MGE-iCut, the largest and most capable digital die cutter in the marketplace. Paired with our variety of digital output services its capabilities are almost limitless.
